Projects

Work that has to hold up in production, in public, for years.

One study we can walk through in full. The rest we describe by pattern — because the organisations involved trusted us with systems that are not ours to name. No borrowed logos, no invented metrics, no heroic ending written afterwards.

Featured case study

Four national certification processes, unified on one platform.

From workflow modelling to containerised production

The challenge

BQPCA runs four distinct regulatory processes — certifying professionals, recognising foreign qualifications, licensing training providers and accrediting programmes. Each had grown its own forms, approval chain and definition of a "case". Staff carried the differences in their heads, and no single view of the caseload existed.

What we built

  • Modelled all four workflows down to the parts they genuinely share — applicants, reviewers, decisions, appeals — and built one data spine underneath them
  • Delivered full-stack: a Vue and Nuxt front end, a Django and PostgreSQL core, containerised so every deployment behaves identically
  • Preserved each process’s own language and screens so officers recognised their work rather than relearning it
  • Attached a complete decision and appeal history to every case, so any outcome can be traced months later

The outcome

Certification, recognition, licensing and accreditation now run on one system with one audit trail and one place to see where any case stands. A new process type can be added without rebuilding the platform.

Patterns of work

Three problems we have solved more than once.

Different settings, the same discipline: make complexity legible, keep every record and every decision traceable, and leave the organisation stronger than we found it.

Government & public sector

Digital public services

Citizen-facing and back-office platforms that stay available while the organisation around them changes.

The situation

A public service has two lives at once: the one a citizen sees and the one behind the counter. Both must keep running through reorganisations, policy changes and staff turnover.

What it needed

Public and internal platforms that stay available, keep their records straight and make responsibility visible rather than assumed.

What we delivered

  • Public-facing platforms designed for dependable daily use at national scale
  • Internal systems that carry the casework behind public services
  • Security, access control and continuity designed in — not bolted on

Regulated organisations

Large-scale data migration

Years of records moved to a new system in reconciled stages — with zero tolerance for a lost record.

The situation

A migration is a negotiation with years of old decisions: status codes that mean three things, dates that are sometimes notes, duplicates from a merger handled quickly. The organisation still needs the system tomorrow morning.

What it needed

A move that could be traced and verified slice by slice, until the old system and the new one told the same story.

What we delivered

  • Profiling, cleaning and mapping records before asking them to fit a new model
  • Migrating in small, verified stages instead of one heroic cut-over
  • Reconciling every stage until old and new records agreed to the row

Health, regulatory & complex-case organisations

Approval & case-management systems

Multi-step approvals that keep their history, reasoning and accountability through every hand they pass through.

The situation

Every approval screen stands in for a decision that affects someone. When a case passes through many reviewers, its context cannot survive on memory and goodwill.

What it needed

A way for complex cases to move quickly without shedding their history, reasoning or responsibility along the way.

What we delivered

  • Case workflows with explicit states, escalations and appeal paths
  • A complete, queryable audit history attached to every decision
  • Role-aware interfaces that show each person exactly what the case needs next

Your project

Bring us the system everyone is afraid to touch.

We will read it as it actually behaves, tell you plainly what it would take, and stand behind the result.
